The Ox House Wine Company
The Ox House Wine Company is an independent firm of wine merchants and shippers specialising in artisan wines from small family run estates around the world. We currently work with about 100 producers and visit them all as frequently as possible in order to maintain these important relationships. Our wines are selected with the same uncompromising attention to detail that we would expect from them in vineyard. Our focus is on the authentic and therefore we are constantly looking for original expressions of both the grape and place.
We place a high value on independence, as it is the cornerstone of originality. For us such authenticity requires careful and considered husbandry in the vineyard and the sort of intimate knowledge that can only come from small scale production. We therefore think of ourselves as more of a farmers' market, than say a supermarket.
This website is more of a shop window than a shopping basket and is designed to give an insight into our style and scope. We hope that our range of wines will whet your appetite and encourage you to contact us for the level of knowledge and service that it would be unrealistic to expect from major retailers.
